Public laundry rooms are historical traces of the past.  Capileira has two: one old, and one more modern.  The absence of running water in the houses obligates the women to go to these installations to do the laundry.  It is easy to imagine the activity at this place, where the obligatory appointment brought about chatting, an exchange of impressions, and controversy over the latest news.
